There is no single test for fatigue. A good evaluation starts with your story: how long, what pattern, what helps, how you sleep, how you eat, what you take, how your mood is. The exam and labs then confirm or rule out the likely causes. Most patients leave with at least one thing to fix and a follow-up date.

A blood count for anemia, thyroid function, A1C or glucose, vitamin D and B12, kidney and liver function, and inflammation markers when indicated. Your provider chooses based on your history.
Can dizziness be caused by my medicines?
Yes. Blood pressure medicines, some antidepressants, sedatives and others commonly cause lightheadedness. Bring a full list so your provider can review it.
Could it be my thyroid?
Possibly. Thyroid disease is a common and treatable cause of fatigue, weight change and aches. A simple TSH blood test screens for it.
Do I need to see a specialist?
Most causes are found and treated in primary care. Referral to cardiology, neurology, ENT or a sleep clinic is arranged when the evaluation points there.
